DentaMile on the cover of CMF Journal

The Journal of Craniomandibular Function published by Quintessence Publishing is the official periodical of the German Society of Craniomandibular Function and Disorders. To make it onto the cover, you must have something exceptional to offer – in this case a DMG DentaMile digital workflow.

The cover of the current issue shows a screenshot from a bite guard workflow created with DMG DentaMile connect software. An 11-page case report, in which DMG DentaMile solutions play a key role, features inside. Titled “Treatment of painful, acute craniomandibular dysfunctions using a digital workflow”, the report is the work of Dr Falk Schwendicke from Charité Berlin and DMG’s Dr Susanne Effenberger, Dr Mariam Samadi and Fabian Oberhofer.

It focuses on a 34-year-old patient experiencing pain in their masticatory muscles, who is diagnosed with craniomandibular dysfunction (CMD). With the help of the digital workflow and the opportunities it offers in terms of digital splint design and computer-assisted manufacturing, the patient was quickly and cost-effectively fitted with a custom occlusal splint. After just a couple of days wearing the splint, the patient reported a significant reduction in symptoms, and after seven days he was completely symptom-free!

This successful solution was achieved with a validated DentaMile workflow using DentaMile connect software, a DMG 3Delite printer, DMG 3Dewash and 3Decure post-processing units and LuxaPrint Ortho Plus material.

We are delighted with this great confirmation of DMG’s commitment to 3D printing.
