DMG celebrates its birthday!

From a one-man company with materials tested in his home kitchen to an international family business with around 500 employees – a lot has happened at DMG since 1963. On our anniversary website, we warmly invite you to take a peek behind the scenes and get to know the people and ideas driving DMG.

Happy Birthday, DMG:
Birthday greetings from across the globe

Did you know that DMG conducts business in over 80 countries? Take a look at some video greetings from DMG colleagues, partners and friends around the world wishing DMG a Happy Birthday:

It’s better to smile together!

We celebrated our birthday all together in Hamburg at the beginning of August. Colleagues from all countries gave DMG a smile and all the individual smiles were used to create this photo collage, which puts a smile on all our faces. Do you happen to recognise anyone?

We call Hamburg home

DMG is still headquartered in the west of Hamburg. The special feature: all corporate divisions are concentrated here in one place and work in close cooperation with each other, from research & development to production, sales, marketing and training. Workshops and seminars are held regularly at the Dental Training Center – DMG’s own training centre.

Focus on sustainability

At DMG, we constantly strive to become even more sustainable. Our long-term vision is to establish sustainability as a natural driver in the actions of DMG and its employees.

We already use 100 per cent green electricity and plan to dedicate about half of the roof area of our new production and storage building to a photovoltaic system and a green roof. Instead of demolishing the former building and constructing a new one, the existing core of the old building was preserved and rebuilt. We are now planning to install additional photovoltaic systems and green spaces on the roofs of two other buildings.

A few more examples of the many activities on the way to increased sustainability:
DMG employees have the opportunity to obtain a subsidised Deutschland-Ticket for public transport within Germany and to lease a JobRad bicycle. Anyone interested can also join up with colleagues on the carpool portal to commute to work together. On the company premises there are charging points for electric vehicles, and they are to be increased even further. Rail travel is the default form of transport for business trips within Germany.

Much of the food in our canteen is made from regional and seasonal produce. Where possible, we rely on the use of recycled materials and the reuse of packaging materials in our production and for packaging. Non-essential packaging materials are avoided.
