Description

3 hours, 4 speakers, extraordinary in-depth knowledge, broadcast live from our DMG Dental Training Center Hamburg.

As part of the Interdentale continuing education series, this webinar brings together leading clinicians and researchers to explore developmental enamel defects from multiple, complementary perspectives. Participants will gain a scientific understanding of enamel micromorphology, learn evidence-based treatment strategies for demarcated opacities, and discover practical approaches for long-term patient management.

The programme also highlights the psychosocial dimensions of care, emphasizing how treatment outcomes influence patients’ daily lives and well-being.
This session equips dental professionals with the knowledge, confidence, and empathy needed to provide high‑quality, patient-centered care.

Speakers

Prof. Dr. Carlos Rocha Gomes Torres is a specialist in Operative Dentistry and currently professor on the undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the Institute of Science and Technology, Sao Paulo State University -UNESP, Brazil.

After graduation as a dentist, he obtained his PhD in Operative Dentistry from the Sao Paulo State University, and then undertook postdoctoral stage at the University of Zurich in Switzerland. He subsequently completed his Habilitation in Operative Dentistry and was appointed Full Professor of Operative Dentistry, Occlusion, and Dental Sculpture.

Prof. Dr. Torres is the author of more than 250 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, as well as the editor of three books and five book chapters. 
He is a member of editorial boards and reviewer of various international dental journals.

His research areas are resin composites, dental bleaching, resin infiltration, adhesive systems, and bioactive materials.

Prof. Dr. Alessandra Buhler Borges is Full Professor at Sao Paulo State University-UNESP, in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil. She holds a dentist degree and obtained her MS and PhD in Operative Dentistry from the Sao Paulo State University. Prof. Dr. Borges is a specialist in Operative Dentistry and Public Health and completed a postdoctoral program at the Oral Health Institute Indiana University School of Dentistry, USA. 
 

Her academic responsibilities include teaching Operative Dentistry at undergraduate and graduate levels. 

She is author of three books, and five book chapters, and published more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals, in cooperation with researchers from different universities around the world.  

Her main research interests include tooth demineralization (erosion and caries), resin infiltration, and dental bleaching. 

Dr. Vera Soviero is a Full Professor of Paediatric Dentistry at the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), Brazil, where she has been a faculty member since 1999. Since February 2017, she has coordinated the Master and PhD programs in Pediatric Dentistry. She received her DDS degree from the School of Dentistry of the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, and her MSc and PhD in Pediatric Dentistry from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. She completed postdoctoral training between 2010 and 2011 at the University of Brasília (Brazil) and at Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (Germany). Her research focuses mainly on clinical studies related to dental caries and enamel hypomineralization.
