The initial aim of infiltration therapy is to arrest initial E2 and D1 caries lesions. By eroding the pseudo-intact surface, it is possible to infiltrate the increased pore volume of the enamel structure and significantly reduce the local rate of caries progression. After infiltration, the refractive index of the infiltrated areas changes and the previously opaque surface can no longer be distinguished from healthy tooth substance. The masking of opacities on smooth surfaces (post-orthodontic lesions, fluorosis, MIH, trauma, etc.) is based on this effect.
In his practical and clinically oriented presentation, PD Dr. Michael Wicht shows the application of the infiltration concept and the results of clinical studies in the posterior region, as well as the application options and their modifications for masking opacities of different origins in the incisors. Microabrasion, in-office bleaching and adapted application protocols are presented to make immediate implementation into the daily practice easy. Numerous clinical cases accompany and support the clinical evidence of this procedure.
After his webinar, PD Dr. Michael Wicht will be available to answer your questions and engage in personal discussions.
